The State of Maine doesn’t just hand out Maine Guide Licenses, if you get your guide license, you’ve have earned it !!!! Steve’s class more then prepared me for taking the test and then some, they threw everything at me, I had all the answer for what ever they asked me "believe me" they pulled out all the stops and I passed on my first try and I accredit it all to taking Steve’s class !!!!!

I traveled to the Attic lodge from Pennsylvania for the three day class. Having the ability to stay right at the class was awesome for me to get extra study time each evening instead of driving to a hotel. Class was fantastic and Steve will do everything that he can to get you ready for the test. When I did the class MDIFW was still backed up from Covid. I had to wait months so he gave me a refresher over the phone. He also gave me extra map and compass practice because I asked. Small class size and one on one for everything related to the test was great for me.

I had bought my father a certificate to take the guide prep class for Christmas knowing that I would take it too. We came down to the lodge with plans to get ready to take the exam within the next six months. Steve’s knowledge and preparation was second to none, completely blew every expectation for the class out of the water, I felt more than confident and prepared to take my exam. I had spoke with Steve via email several times about prerequisites for the state exam. I was fully ready to submit my application Monday morning and did so. Found out there was an opening the Wednesday after the class and there I found myself taking my exam and remembering everything we went over and talked about just as Steve had spoke on in class Friday to Sunday. If I had to put a number on how many things Steve touched on that happened through my written and oral exam, I would be better off counting what he didn’t hit on. I felt more than confident in my exam process due to the preparation at the attic lodge. If you’re on the fence or unsure if it’s a good idea. The amount of information covered and time saved from having to go back to the IF&W to retest is well worth the three days at the attic lodge with Steve. I fully believe that it was this class that prepared me for the exam. The price point of the class is definitely more than fair and saves you hundreds of dollars in possible retesting. Steve is an outstanding teacher and I can’t thank him enough for all his efforts in this process. If you’re looking for a class to prepare you. Pull the trigger and get into his next class!

In my life at 58 years old . 2 younger applicants came out before me "not smiling"...with no patch...But this old man got it done ..with a lot of help from you Steve ? Thanks again ..20 years ago I had a 1% chance of living... Guess it wasn't my time ,. Now it's time to Guide others to happiness ?
